The burdens get bigger, and i begin to tire for I am only one man.
My heart loves, but not for you, just a friend; i'm sorry but it's true.
Out there in a world so grand, I hope and wait for a love without demand.
A love that is free, one that makes me smile, and fills me with glee.
Patiently I move through this life and do all that it requires,
knowing that when the time is right we shall meet in the place that is higher
than any cloud in the sunset sky, with more peace than any ocean's tide.
This burden I bear is for a world in which I don't belong,
a place where I no longer sing because there is no more happy song.
My shoulders crush beneath the weight of it all,
but my love is action, a gift of love, and I shall not fail or fall.
I forgive you, my friend, you know not what you do - or do you?
I do what I must, of free will, to follow the one that died for me, it is true - it is true.
