Seeing me, their imaginations assume,
their belief and faith run wild,
trust everlasting as I sit at home, alone, waiting for a phone call that will never come.
My response and dedication to those that I love is crisp and clear because my heart and ears heed their needs & desires.
Mine remain unknown.
I am no mystery. I am just a man who loves and wants to be loved in return. The heavens rain down this grace and tenderness upon my, but its physical touch is extinguished by the shadows that cast themselves as guardians around me.
Protected I become the protector.
I am not too busy. I would never be. The ones I want to ask just never do. So I take it upon myself. I always have. Except that one time. So I probably always will.

The Weight of the World
The burdens get bigger, and i begin to tire for I am only one man.
My heart loves, but not for you, just a friend; i'm sorry but it's true.
Out there in a world so grand, I hope and wait for a love without demand.
A love that is free, one that makes me smile, and fills me with glee.
Patiently I move through this life and do all that it requires,
knowing that when the time is right we shall meet in the place that is higher
than any cloud in the sunset sky, with more peace than any ocean's tide.
This burden I bear is for a world in which I don't belong,
a place where I no longer sing because there is no more happy song.
My shoulders crush beneath the weight of it all,
but my love is action, a gift of love, and I shall not fail or fall.
I forgive you, my friend, you know not what you do - or do you?
I do what I must, of free will, to follow the one that died for me, it is true - it is true.
My heart loves, but not for you, just a friend; i'm sorry but it's true.

What to do?
I wonder what life has brought unto me - a life that's led and now stands still, anxiously awaiting to run again. Somehow this journey is like the speed of light, and now I'm watching myself age, aware of all that is around me passing me by even as though I dream of more and more.
My dreams are not here, I'm afraid.
My hopes lie in far away, non-imagined places.
I must go, and not be afraid.
I wonder why my heart and mind do not find another. How is it that hopeless romance turns out to be hopeless after all this time? Again and again I face them and those I crush are not those who crush me, and reverse.
What is a boy to do?
Write.
