Taft Memorial

My ticket (signed by my Wisconsin state Senator, Herb Kohl) to get me into the gallery and listen to live action on the Senate floor (they were arguing about the Webb Amendment: an attempt to get soldiers equal time at home as service time in the field. Would have taken too much authority from the Commander-in-Chief. However the arguments that Congress should have no say into the President's decision making are stupid and wrong (according to the amendment, designed to prevent absolute authority from being in the hands of the Office of the President (it's called Checks & Balances.. if grade schoolers can learn and understand it WHY CAN'T OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS????????? ?????????)

Library of Congress (lots of books here!)
